Prince out indefinitely with back injury

Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince will be out indefinitely due to a small rupture of a disc in his lower back, the team announced Saturday. The injury was confirmed following an MRI exam and evaluation by team doctors conducted earlier in the week.

Prince will continue to receive treatment for the injury and the team said in the release that further updates on his status will be provided when appropriate.

Prince had played in 469 straight games until suffering the injury and missing the Pistons last three games. He averaged 12.3 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games this season.

Richard Hamilton will also remain sidelined for Sunday's game with an ankle injury and is day-to-day after that.
