Hamilton out for Orlando game

Pistons guard Richard Hamilton is out for Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic with a sprained right ankle and his status is still up in the air for the rest of the week.

“He will not play tomorrow,” Pistons coach John Kuester said after practice Monday. “Arnie (Kander) is listing him after that day-to-day. He’s getting treatment, he’s worked real hard in trying to get back into the flow of things, but it’s just taking a little bit of time.”

Hamilton injured his ankle in the season opener against Memphis last Wednesday when he came down on the foot of O.J. Mayo. Hamilton has already missed Friday’s loss at home to the Thunder and Saturday’s road loss to Milwaukee. The Pistons offense has struggled in both games without Hamilton.

“He’s an integral part of the team,” Kuester said of Hamilton. “With that being said, in the NBA, as you well know, this is part of the business. Guys go down, other people have to pick it up. We’ve got to collectively do that and we’ve done it at times. We got to consistently do it though. That’s going to be important.”
