Pistons' Drummond says he is fine after rolling ankle

The entire Palace crowd held its breath as Pistons rookie Andre Drummond laid on the floor holding his ankle.

Drummond rolled his right ankle with 5:30 left in the fourth quarter of Friday's win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Drummond was playing in just his eighth game since returning from a back injury that cost him 22 games so it was natural for Pistons' fans to be nervous as the big man talked to Pistons strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander.

The only person not worried was Drummond.

"I was shaken up, got up, walked off the floor," Drummond said. "I’m fine."

Drummond said he had X-rays and "They said I’m fine, they said I’m good."

The Pistons (28-52) have just two games left this season, but Drummond said he expects to play again this year.

"I’ll be back to play. I’ll be fine," Drummond said.
